      About the Watch:

This Croton tank-cased watch has a beautiful tropical dial that changes from every angle. The dial and blued steel hands feature all original lume and the bright red center seconds hand provides a nice contrast to the dial. The automatic "thumper" movement runs strong and keeps great time. The unique tank-style clamshell case is and squared box crystal is in great shape. We fitted this watch with a beautifully textured calfskin strap in a taupe and brown mottling with beige thread. A beautiful watch all around and a great everyday watch. Croton Watch Company was founded in 1878 and remains in business today.

      About the Brand:

When you think of Croton, you may think of the monstrous quartz pieces of the late 2000s and 2010s. But you would be skipping over a lustrous history in horology starting all the way back in 1878. Croton was first established in Italy, and quickly gained interest in the design of their watches. They are still a family owned company operating out of New Jersey. Their vintage pieces have been prized for many years, and in particular, their automatic "bumper" or "thumper" movements as they are affectionately called.

      About Vintage Watches:

Please note that nearly all vintage watches are not water resistant, despite any markings on the case or dial, and care should be taken when wearing. All vintage watches will show signs of wear and patina, our favorite part, and scratches on the case, crystal, and case back are all part of the charm! All of our vintage watches have been cleaned, running, and left in unpolished condition when possible. Vintage watches should run as intended, however, some slight variations in timekeeping are to be expected. Plus or minus 10-30 seconds a day is common. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have, we love talking watches.
